Pregnancy is a life-changing moment in any woman’s life. There are so many thoughts that race through her mind and her body is also going through many changes. That is why I compiled these bible verses for pregnant woman.
I remember when I was pregnant, I was anxious; I worried about so many things. I would pray for a safe delivery and for the child to be born without complications. Any slight thing would worry me. And I constantly googled if it was normal for a pregnant woman to experience such.
To be pregnant is a blessing and it is the will of God that is why Genesis 1:28 says, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.”
However because mankind sinned, God made the childbearing process painful. That is why Genesis 3:16 says, “To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children.”
Here are some bible verses for pregnant woman to read when:
- Feeling anxious – Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
- Feeling tired – Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

- Having insomnia – Proverbs 3:24 “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.”
- Afraid to miscarry – Exodus 23:26 – “and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.”
- Received a bad report- Genesis 18:14 “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

Bible Verses For Pregnant Woman
1. Psalm 127:3-5 – Children are a heritage from God
Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
2. Psalm 22:9-10 – He is God over the child in the womb
Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast. From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
3. Psalm 71:6 – You can rely on God during the pregnancy
From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise you.
4. John 16:21 – You will soon forget this childbirth pain
A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world
5. 1 Samuel 1:20 – Hannah became pregnant and credited it to God
So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”
6. Exodus 23:26 – You will not miscarry
and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
7. Jeremiah 1:5 – This pregnancy was part of God’s plan
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
8. Isaiah 40:29-31 – You might feel tired but God will give you strength
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
9. Isaiah 44:2 – God will help you, He formed you in the womb
This is what the Lord says—he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
10. Psalm 91:1-4 Fear not for God is your refuge and fortress
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
11. Isaiah 65:23 – You and your children will be blessed
They will not labor in vain, nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they and their descendants with them.
12. Genesis 16:11 – You’re pregnant for the Lord has heard your misery
The angel of the Lord also said to her: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery.
13. Genesis 25:21-23 – Pray to God when you have pregnancy complications
Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. The Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”
14. Genesis 30:22-24 – God has remembered you
Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive. She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, “God has taken away my disgrace.” She named him Joseph, and said, “May the Lord add to me another son.”
15. Judges 13:7 – Not consuming alcohol during pregnancy
But he said to me, ‘You will become pregnant and have a son. Now then, drink no wine or other fermented drink and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite of God from the womb until the day of his death.’”
16. Luke 1:24-25 – Elizabeth remained in seclusion for 5 months when pregnant
After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion. “The Lord has done this for me,” she said. “In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”
17. Ruth 4:13-16 – A child renews hope
So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. When he made love to her, the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son. The women said to Naomi: “Praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a guardian-redeemer. May he become famous throughout Israel! He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth.” Then Naomi took the child in her arms and cared for him. The women living there said, “Naomi has a son!” And they named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.

When she heard the news that the ark of God had been captured and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she went into labor and gave birth, but was overcome by her labor pains. As she was dying, the women attending her said, “Don’t despair; you have given birth to a son.” But she did not respond or pay any attention.
