There are many Bible verses about the heart of a woman. There are scriptures that talk about her good heart, her bad heart as well as the ideal heart of a woman.

A woman’s heart knows how to endure pain, that is why a woman can go into labor so many times with the ultimate goal of bringing life into the world.

The Bible in Jeremiah 49:22 says, “In that day the hearts of Edom’s warriors will be like the heart of a woman in labor.” 

A heart of a woman is also brave, she can risk her life to fight for her children or the things she loves. 

Some women have crafty hearts. Remember Rebekah when she pushed Jacob to get Esau’s blessing in Genesis 27:6? It says a lot about a woman’s heart. 

But a heart that fears the Lord produces a good heart and sets the woman apart from the rest.

1. The heart of a woman in birth pangs (Jeremiah 48:41)

“Kerioth is taken, And the strongholds are surprised; The mighty men’s hearts in Moab on that day shall be Like the heart of a woman in birth pangs.” Jeremiah 48:41 NKJV

2. The heart of a woman in labour (Jeremiah 49:22)

“Look! An eagle will soar and swoop down, spreading its wings over Bozrah. In that day the hearts of Edom’s warriors will be like the heart of a woman in labor.” Jeremiah 49:22

3. The heart of a woman is crafty (Proverbs 7:10)

9. The heart of a woman cannot forsake a child (Exodus 2:1-6)

Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him. Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said. Exodus 2:1-6

The Levite woman who is the mother of Moses, Moses’ sister, and Pharaoh’s daughter could not forsake the child when they saw him. This just shows that the heart of a woman is filled with love and compassion.

10.  Don’t rely on her charm (Proverbs 31:30)

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30.

11. She shouldn’t lose heart (2 Corinthians 4:16)

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16

12. She is persuasive (2 Kings 4:8)

“Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food.” 2 Kings 4:8

13. The heart of a woman is dedicated to God’s work (Luke 2:36-37)

“There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.” Luke 2:36-37

This is also one of the bible verses about the heart of the woman shows her loyalty to God despite having faced a loss in her life. She was like Ruth, who stayed with her mother-in-law Naomi even after her husband had passed on.

14. The heart of a woman is secretive (2 Samuel 11:5)

Bathsheba 5 The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, “I am pregnant.” 2 Samuel 11:5

This means that this woman had kept it a secret from her husband that she had slept with David and that she was pregnant with his child. If her husband had slept with her it means that she would have pinned the pregnancy on him. 

Even today, there are women who are secretive about the real father of the child. 

15. The heart of a woman is wicked (Mark 6:23-24)

And he swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half my kingdom!” Then she went out and asked her mother, “What should I request?” And her mother answered, “The head of John the Baptist.” Mark 6:23-24)

16. The heart of a woman is brave (Judges 9:52-53)

“Abimelek went to the tower and attacked it. But as he approached the entrance to the tower to set it on fire, a woman dropped an upper millstone on his head and cracked his skull.” Judges 9:52-53

This woman suffered for a long time and she was determined to find a cure, she did not stop believing that she could still be made whole.

The heart of a woman is not based on her beauty, one needs to look at her actions. Luke 6:45 says, “The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
