There are multiple bible verse about a fathers love, because God wants us to understand His love from a practical point of view, which makes it easier to relate.
However, there are many earthly fathers who are not in their rightful positions; they don’t take on the responsibility of a father to their biological children.
If you still have a father whether biological or not who shows you love, take some time to appreciate him. Praise him for being a good father to you.
Knowing God As A Loving Father Verses
God is aware that some people don’t experience the father’s love that is why He wants you to know Him as a loving father. Psalm 68:5-6 says, “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families…”
You should know that even if your earthly father is not present; whether because he rejected you or he was taken away, or he is present but doesn’t show you the father’s love, God is your father and wants to show you love.
I had a great father, who showed me love, and as I read these scriptures, I can relate. But now since he is no more, I am allowing God to shower me with His fatherly love.

Bible Verse About Fathers Love
1. A fathers love does not keep record of wrongs (2 Samuel 13:37-39)
“And David mourned many days for his son Amnon. Absalom fled to his grandfather, Talmai son of Ammihud, the king of Geshur. He stayed there in Geshur for three years. And King David, now reconciled to Amnon’s death, longed to be reunited with his son Absalom.” 2 Samuel 13:37-39
Amnon had slept with his sister Tamar. And when David heard of it he was angry but Amnon did not suffer any consequences for his actions because his father loved him.
So in a way a father loves all his children and wants to see them alive. Although it can seem unfair to the child who has been wronged.
So the brother Absalom was angry that nothing was done to Amnon and decided to avenge two years later by ending his life. After this, Absalom then ran away but while he was away, his father David still longed to see him and be with him because he still loved his child.
This just shows that nothing can ever separate a child from the love of the father, no matter the sins they have committed.
2. A father is gentle with his child (2 Samuel 18:5)
The king commanded Joab, Abishai and Ittai, “Be gentle with the young man Absalom for my sake.” 2 Samuel 18:5
So Absalom still continued to rebel against his father; slept with his women and even wanted to end his life. But David the father still did not want to see any harm befalling his beloved child.

3. A father carries his child (Deuteronomy 1:31)
“and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” Deuteronomy 1:31
The Bible says that a father carries his child until he reaches the destination. He doesn’t give up on his child or leave him behind. He is his strength and provides him with physical, financial, and emotional support.
4. A father’s love is great, he is proud of his children (1 John 3:1)
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1
There are many men who are fathers but show no love to their kids, they have rejected their kids. But the bible says the Father loves us so much that he calls us His Children.
5. A father’s love cares about the child that is lost (Matthew 18:12-14)
“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.” Matthew 18:12-14
A father’s love cares about you as an individual and recognizes it when you are missing. Instead of appreciating the 99 that have remained, he has more regard for the child who is lost and rejoices when they are found. A father cares so much about his child’s safety.
6. A father gives his children good gifts (Matthew 7:9-11)
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:9-11
This is another bible verse about a father’s love. No matter how evil a father can be, he will never give a child a harmful gift. So imagine God who is our Heavenly Father, what kind of gifts does He give to His children when they ask?
7. A father knows what you need before you even ask him (Matthew 6:7-8)
“And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matthew 6:7-8
A father knows what you need because he pays attention to you. But even though he already knows what you need, don’t be scared to go to him and ask.
8. A father is compassionate (Luke 15:20)
“And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.” Luke 15:20
The prodigal son had wronged his father in every possible way, but when he returned home, his father still showed him love. This just shows how profound a father’s love is.
9. Bible verse about fathers love (John 16:27)
“No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.” John 16:27
10. A father disciplines and delights in his child (Proverbs 3:12)
“because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Proverbs 3:12
The Bible says the father disciplines the child he loves. That is why Proverbs 13:24 says, “Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.”
11. A father makes sacrifices for his children (John 3:16)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Because God loved his children and wanted to see them living life to the full and not perishing, he sacrificed Jesus.
12. A father is merciful (Luke 6:36)
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” Luke 6:36
13. A father trusts his child (John 3:35)
“The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.” John 3:35
A father gives his child full control and trust that his child will make the right decisions because love trusts. Here the bible was saying that God has placed everything in the hands of Jesus.
14. A father loves the child when he does his will (John 10:17)
“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again” John 10:17
Jesus was saying that His Father (God) loves him because he is willing to lay down his life.
15. A father’s love makes it easy to abide in love (John 15:9)
“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.” John 15:9
When you are receiving the father’s love, it is also easy to offer love to others. Some people are bitter and not capable of loving because they never received love.
16. A father loves and makes his home with you (John 14:23)
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. John 14:23
17. A father loves even the coming generations (Proverbs 13:22)
“A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children” Proverbs 13:22
A father’s love also thinks for his children’s offspring. He doesn’t squander his wealth or fold his hands but lives in such a way that his children and future generation will inherit from him.

Bible Verse About Fathers Love For His Daughter
18. A father had daughters who prophesied (Acts 21:8-9)
Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven. He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied. Acts 21:8-9
This father loved his daughters and even created an environment for them to know and grow in their gifts. And even though they were unmarried he still continued being a father to them.
19. A father gives his daughters in marriage (Jeremiah 29:6)
“Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease.” Jeremiah 29:6
A father has a great bond with his daughter but when the time for marriage comes, he should not withhold her from starting a family of her own.
A father’s love for his daughter means that he should be willing to release her so that there can be multiplication.
That is confirmed in Exodus 2:21-22 which says, “Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom …”

The Bible says that Mordecai took Esther in as his own daughter because her parents were no longer alive. This shows how deep a father’s love is or even how God’s love is towards his daughters.
21. The heart of the father should be on their daughters (Malachi 4:6)
